LAHORE, Mar. 04 (APP): During a meeting on Monday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif gave the go-ahead to launch the “Sarkein Bahaal Punjab Khushhal” project, which aims to promote Punjab road infrastructure.
CM stressed the need for a speedy fix to the road condition. She mentioned, “No road should remain broken in Punjab within 6 months.” Further, she ordered all inter- and intra-district roads to be promptly repaired and renovated. She stressed the significance of upholding high standards all along the way.
To further ensure the longevity of the road infrastructure, the chief minister also ordered electric weighing machines to be installed on roads to develop an axle load management system.
CM also demanded a thorough report on road bridges in Punjab and recommended completing ongoing road projects. She emphasized the importance of moving quickly with surveys for road bridge building and repair.
In addition, CM directed that a public-private partnership model be used to build expressways on important linkages. It includes Multan-Vehari and Chiniot-Faisalabad and repairing and rehabilitating more than 153 roads across Punjab.
During the meeting, the secretary of communications and works gave a thorough briefing on the state of the province’s roadways. 7,948 km of roads were said to have been surveyed with the Road Right App, and an additional 2,000 km had been surveyed with a profilometer. One hundred fixed parameters were used to evaluate the state of the roads.
