Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, asked the authorities in Lahore on Wednesday to speed up the process of buying land so that 100000 homes for low-income families can be built.
During a meeting about building homes, the Chief Minister told everyone to pick locations quickly in six big Punjab towns. Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargodha, and Lahore.
She said she would look for places close to city centres if possible. So that the homes can access all the services people need. She noted that the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Project would improve life by giving people the necessary tools.
The CM said everyone needs a place to live, and the government will do everything possible to meet that need. She was told that the Board of Revenue had found 117 possible places across Punjab. They need to be inspected and decided on immediately to start constructing 100000 homes.
The meeting was joined by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Former Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Provincial Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, and other important people.
