The Punjab Chief Secretary, Zahid Akhtar Zaman, visited the Shahdara Flyover Project at the request of Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. He thoroughly examined the project site while he was there and took the chance to speak with the hard-working individuals engaged in the construction.
Chief Secretary Zaman thanked the diligent staff for their steadfast dedication, including working day and night throughout the Eid vacations. He focused on the significance of on-time completion as he closely examined the development of the ongoing building activity.
Chief Secretary Zaman gave the authorities strict instructions to follow the timetables to ensure the project’s prompt completion. He emphasised the importance of prioritising the citizens’ convenience during the construction period and asked for the appropriate steps in this regard.
He also emphasised the importance of the Shahdara Chowk flyover, saying that once finished, it will substantially help the smooth passage of almost 300,000 vehicles daily. Furthermore, he emphasised that the project’s successful completion would significantly reduce traffic congestion at the city’s key entry and exit ports, a problem that has existed for a long time.
The presence of officers from NESPAK (National Engineering Services Pakistan), contractors, and Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Chief Engineer Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider, and Commissioner Lahore Division Muhammad Ali Randhawa during the visit showed how the project’s various stakeholders worked together and in coordination.
