The LDA has minimized the approval timeline for housing schemes’ building plans from 30 days to three working days. The major person behind this crucial change is LDA Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who has a record of using people-centric policies. The aim is to create a hassle-free experience for all stakeholders involved.
Moving further, LDA is also developing an online platform that will further improve the approval process. This digital channel will empower the public with multiple avenues to submit and monitor their building plans effortlessly.
On this transformative shift, Azhar Ali, Lahore Development Authority Chief Town Planner, said, “All necessary reports and procedures, from site reports to final approvals, will now be centralized at the One Window Cell.” He also highlighted removing redundant administrative tasks and introducing new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
With these sweeping changes, LDA will deliver efficient, transparent, and accessible services to the citizens. The revamped building plan approval process marks a significant leap towards a more vibrant and responsive Lahore.
