In a milestone event on January 31st, Punjab’s Caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, officially kickstarted the restoration endeavor of a 33-kilometer dual carriageway connecting Lahore to Kasur. Breaking records, the comprehensive construction, repair, and rejuvenation efforts along the Gajju Matta-Kasur stretch were successfully concluded within an impressive timeframe.
Naqvi highlighted that the project involved enhancing the existing road and an extension, marking a significant stride in transportation infrastructure. Emphasizing fiscal responsibility, he noted a substantial saving of Rs. 250 million achieved through a transparent and efficient tendering process.
The transformation is not merely cosmetic, as a dual road now flanks both sides of the Gajju Matta-Kasur route. Naqvi expressed confidence that the newly constructed road from Gajju Matta to Kasur would enhance connectivity and convenience.
During the inauguration, the Secretary of Communication & Works provided a comprehensive briefing on the intricacies of the project. Provincial Ministers Amir Mir and Bilal Afzal, Commissioner Lahore, and Secretary of Communication & Works attended the event.
