The government of Punjab is reportedly mulling over a proposal to construct high-rise commercial centres. The prime locations are Camp Jail and Rescue 1122 Academy. The plan was brought up during a meeting held under Caretaker CM Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, on Sunday.
The project, known as the Central Business District (CBD) initiative, aims to transform the Ferozepur Road area of the city. It will be constructing contemporary commercial centres in that particular area. The government expects to earn billions of rupees in revenue from this undertaking.
During the meeting, the CM emphasized the need for a detailed plan to be created for the development project and urged officials to explore other possible sites for Camp Jail and Rescue 1122 Academy.
The attendees highlighted that constructing tall building Processes in central Lahore could give a boost to commercial activities in the area. Officials present at the meeting included the Chief Secretary, Chairman of the Planning and Development Board, Secretary of Housing, Commissioner of Lahore Division, IG Prisons, CEO of the Central Business District, DG Rescue 1122, MD WASA, and Chief Traffic Officer.
The Punjab government has been instructed to begin preparations for the CBD cooperative project without delay. Once completed, the project is predicted to revitalize the city’s business prospects and generate substantial income for the government.
