Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has recently formed a dedicated team to scrutinise the building bylaws of housing projects within its jurisdiction. As per the official notification, the team will thoroughly review the existing building regulations and suggest necessary amendments to improve the implementation mechanisms for the Director of Estate Management.
The team comprises the Director DG Headquarters, Director of Master Planning, Additional Director General (Housing), Director of Law (High Court), Senior Legal Advisor, and Chief Metropolitan Officer. Their primary responsibility is to monitor and enforce laws related to illegal housing schemes and recommend measures to prevent overselling plots by real estate developers.
In addition, the team will evaluate the management structure of high-rise buildings and introduce resident-friendly building regulations. They will seek feedback from Private Housing Societies and ABAD representatives and submit the report within seven days.
