The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has recently announced a series of significant initiatives of Mega Projects to tackle the city’s growing traffic problems. In a meeting chaired by Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the commissioner and director general of LDA, discussed critical projects. Attendees included Chief Engineer Israr Saeed Khan, Director DG Headquarters, Project Directors, and other relevant officers.
Among the projects discussed, the LDA has designed a signal-free route from Gulberg to Defense Mor. It will involve the construction of a two-lane flyover at Defense Chowk and a two-lane underpass at Cavalry Chowk. The project will also include remodelling Defense Mor.
Additionally, the meeting covered the ongoing construction of an underpass on Bedian Road and the improvement of the Nawaz Sharif Interchange on Ring Road. The director general was also briefed on the Multi-Level Flyover project in Shahdara and the development work around the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI).
According to the director general, these mega projects are expected to address the traffic issues in the city effectively. This is a significant move by LDA, and these projects will likely bring much-needed relief to the commuters of Lahore.
