Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has started the construction of signal-free corridors. It features protected U-turns at several intersections, aiming to address the escalating traffic challenges within the city.
In specific details, concrete pillars have been erected at Qadir Topash Chowk and Y Junction. The primary goal is establishing an interconnected network of signal-free corridors. It starts with the corridor spanning from Jinnah Hospital to Barkat Market.
Expanding on these endeavors, the stretch from Jinnah Hospital to Barkat Market has significantly changed. In its place, a U-turn has been strategically introduced two hundred meters beyond. Moreover, Abdul Sattar Edhi Road has witnessed the elimination of four traffic signals, which are being replaced by protected U-turns.
These interventions serve multiple purposes, encompassing enhanced traffic management and bolstered security measures. The concerted efforts by the Lahore Development Authority reflect a proactive approach to addressing the burgeoning traffic concerns and fostering a more efficient urban mobility landscape.
