The Southern Loop-3 (SL-3) of the Lahore Ring Road project has received permission from the Punjab government to start construction soon.
According to specifics, the cabinet has approved the PC-I of Ring Road SL-3. It has a budget of PKR 17.798 billion. The project’s funding will be allocated as part of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) the following year.
In addition, the government has decided to fund the project alone. It has abandoned its earlier plan to carry it out under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The government has already purchased the necessary land, and PKR 4.5 billion in compensation has been given to the affected landowners.
According to reports, the government has finished the mutation procedure. Guaranteeing that the Lahore Ring Road Authority (LRRA) won’t encounter any obstacles when starting the project. As soon as possible, the LRRA will start the bidding procedure and carry out other preliminary tasks. In this way, they will choose a qualified company through a competitive bidding process.
