Under the direction of the Punjab government in Lahore, development has begun on the much-awaited Ring Road Southern Loop-3 (SL-3) project. The 8.5 km long SL-3, covering 3000 kanals of acquired land, has been identified by Lahore Ring Road Authority (LRRA).

Director Fahad Anees Qureshi and the staff are actively working on the project. While Dr Sohail Shahzad, the Lahore Ring Road Authority chairman, supervises the demarcation process.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) removed all stay orders impeding the SL-3 building project, opening the way for its advancement. This is a big achievement.

The 8.5 km stretch of SL-3 from Ada Plot to Multan Road will be building with funding from the Punjab government, totalling more than 17 billion rupees. The Punjab government has approved the required finances for the Ring Road SL-3 project. Efforts have started to get extra financing from the federal government.

Two interchanges are part of the SL-3 project. The Multan Road interchange will grow to be the biggest interchange in the Punjab region. Service lanes are provided as part of project to meet demands of the population living on both sides of corridor.

In addition, the Authority has started planning to launch a tendering process for the project’s development under the second alternative.
