A review meeting was facilitated by Imran Amin, the Chief Executive Officer of the Central Business District Punjab, to assess the Walton Road Upgradation Project’s status. The main goal of the discussion was to give precise directions to expedite the project’s completion before the start of the monsoon season.
The CEO of CBD Punjab, Imran Amin, attended the meeting with senior NLC officials, Director Construction Asif Babar, Director Architecture Sameer Aftab, Project Director NESPAK Jamshed Janjua, and Technical Executive Director Riaz Hussain. Imran Amin instructed the NLC representatives, contractors, and the technical team to guarantee the project was completed on schedule. NLC and the contractors were directed to work together effectively, using every piece of equipment and manpower.
Technical Executive Director Riaz Hussain gave an update on the project’s status. He mentioned that backfilling work continues after conduit excavation and concrete pouring. Road construction has also started in tandem with backfilling. The backfilling stage is anticipated to be finished in the next several days. Major Ishaq Shaheed Flyover Piles Caps are also currently being worked on.
Walton Road has alternate routes planned to minimize traffic interruptions during development. The Walton Road Upgradation Project’s completion will provide a long-term solution to the region’s traffic and sewage problems.
Additional projects that CBD Punjab is working on include the flyovers at the CBD Punjab Boulevard Walton Railway Crossings. All 164 girders have been cast for the flyovers, and the abutment walls, piers, and transoms have been completed. 45% of the MSC wall has been completed, and the concrete pouring for the transoms of both flyovers is complete. Girder installation will soon get underway.
